*Donna News-Mini Update*

Welcome to a Donna News Mini Update special.

Hello all, long time no blog!  We haven't received any emails from Donna since the last time I posted.  We have been in contact with her via chats, phone calls and texts.  She is doing fabulous still, its just crunch time in learning the language and she is very overwhelmed.  But we all know Donna and have no doubts that she is going to pull through this with flying colors.

Last time we talked with her, she was studying for a major quiz, that then turned into a minor review once we said she needed her sleep, but I digress...  Her language teacher wanted to see how everyone in the class was doing and decided to quiz them.  The only issue with the quiz was that is was scheduled to take place later in the evening, and the PCT are not supposed to be out late, especially the females.  Mostly for their own safety.  Donna brought this to the attention of the teacher and was given permission to be quizzed by her host sister.

Donna was able to figure out how to keep her laptop charged so she can start doing video conferencing.  She was afraid that the adapter she brought to Azerbaijan was the wrong one, then she realized that she wasn't plugging it in correctly.  Hmmm...

Donna left yesterday to go on a trip to visit a PCV.  She had to get up EARLY to catch a marskuta (a type of bus/van hybrid) and get to the city the PCV is in before dark.  So exciting, she gets to go on her first outing!!!  I hope she gets a chance to tell us how it was.

For all of you into science, Donna told us that the 50 manat has benzene rings on it.  I do not know the significance of the rings other than Donna talking about them the times we studied together.  But that seems pretty cool to me.  At least its more interesting than dead white men like our money. :-)

On the mail front, only two PCT have received actual letters and unfortunately Donna is not one of them.  I know the letter I sent (that was returned and then resent) has yet to show up in my mailbox again, so hopefully it has crossed the pond and is on its merry journey to DONNA!!

Well that is all I have for the mini update.  Sorry I don't have any Donna stories to share with you guys.  Hopefully she will be able to get to a cafe and update us all.
